The Fuel Surcharge is a means developed by flying schools to cope with the fluctuating costs of aviation fuel prices experienced in the last few years. Rather then completely re-writing the training costs of the various pilot training programs every time fuel costs changed, school began simply changing a "surcharge" which was attached to the aircraft rate costs.

To ensure Langley Flying Students are fully informed of the costs associated with fluctuating fuel prices, the current value of the Fuel Surcharge is posted on this website in the "costs" section of the course outlines, as well as in the Ready Room at the Airport.
